Modesto Paradise Clinic
The Modesto Paradise Clinic is part of the Golden Valley Health Centers. This federally qualified health center (FQHC) clinic is where residents practice outpatient primary care. This 15,000 sq ft facility built in 2003 was specially designed for resident teaching. When in clinic, each resident has two to three examination rooms for exclusive use with dedicated Medical Assistants. Located in West Modesto, Paradise Clinic provides accessibility to some of the most disadvantaged populations in the community.
Primary Care Continuity Experience
During primary care continuity clinic rotations, on average, residents see 6 patients per clinic during PGY1, about 8 patients per clinic during PGY2 and 10 patients per clinic in PGY3. Managing this clinic volume requires learning some efficiency as the patients managed tend to be complex. Patient demand for services remains consistently high as we are one of the few safety net clinics in our area.
Additional Outpatient Clinical Experience
In addition to Resident Continuity clinics, many other outpatient specialty clinics are structured for teaching. These opportunities include: Pediatrics OB/GYN Sports Medicine Addiction Medicine Rainbow Clinic Diabetes Geriatrics Outpatient Procedures (skin biopsies, abscess incision/drainage, toe nail removal, nexplanon/ IUD, endometrial biospies, circumcision)
